Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was great! Saturday was nice because we were able to sleep in (although, the one day we get to Chris didn't, crazy boy) and later that evening Don, Marietta, and Jessica arrived in town and came over for a bit.
Sunday Sabrina and Brad made it in time for all of us to go to church. Chris and I teach the CTR 6 primary class, but this Sunday one of the other teachers was mia so we got to take the CTR 5 kids into our class along with our usual kids. After church we all went back to our apartment and Chris and I made lunch. We were a little nervous to make lunch for everybody because 6 out of 10 times we make something it doesn't turn out right. We decided to make Hawaiian Haystacks. We have made these a bunch of times so we had high hopes that it would turn out well. Thankfully, all went well. :)

Monday morning came too soon. 5:00 sneaks up on you pretty quick and then you realize it is 5:30 and you really need to be out of the house by 6:00! Well, we got out of the house by 6:15 and then realized that we still needed to get gas. So, sadly we just missed Sabrina starting the race at 7:30. :( But we did catch up to her at another part of the race, where we were able to cheer her on and take some pictures. At 10:00 and 45 seconds we saw Sabrina cross the finish line! Hurray! I am very impressed. 13 miles in 2.5 hours is terrific. Very inspiring... hmm.

Anyway, after a little cool down time Sabrina and Brad went back to their hotel to shower and cool down a bit more, while we drove around Garden of the Gods. That is such a cool place. Chris got some terrific pictures that I want to put up in our apartment.
Then lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. Yum! Good food. And home again, home again.
:D

  2. Yum. Hawaiin Haystacks. My friend Melanie loves those too. She always invites me over when she makes them. Which seems like a pretty good deal to me :).
